David Jolly Team Set For Big Autumn

Feb 02, 2019

Grand Syndicates trainer David Jolly is set for a big Autumn, with all of his horses that race in the black and gold of Grand in work at his Goolwa stables in South Australia.

The team, headed by potential top liner Behemoth, are all set to be racing over the coming weeks and all are certainly capable of winning their share of races.

Behemoth (pictured on his recent return) went for a spell after demolishing a handy field at Moonee Valley and the form out of that race looks top notch with runner up Social Spin since winning two races, including a victory over Long Leaf who then won a $1m race in NZ. Behemoth is in the early stages of his prep and will be aimed at the 3yo stakes races over Autumn/Winter. Jolly reports that he's more mature both physically and mentally and is more than happy with the $6000 bargain buy.

Also due to resume soon will be Yankee Lou, who is up to doing 3/4 pace in readiness for his return. He is a veteran of just three starts and has looked good in all of those runs. He'll be stepping up to evens shortly before Jolly looks for a suitable assignment for him to resume in.

Perfect Balance, a 2 year old filly by handy sire Dundeel is finishing at the pre trainers and will shortly join the Jolly team while another unraced 2 year old Calypso Reign will have another week or so in the paddock before he resumes work. His full sister Martinique was a recent winner and has been city placed so hopefully he can join her as a winner shortly.

Eureka Sky will be looking to step up to a suitable distance in her quest for another win and two time winner Bajan is coming off a nice spell and will be looking to add to his tally in the later stages of the Autumn.
