Trip Impresses In Debut
Jan 20, 2019
Grand Syndicates two year old filly Trip made her debut on Sunday, and it took a blue-blooded daughter of Lonhro from the all powerful Godolphin stable in Lyre and a million dollar filly in Enood to beat her.
Stepping out at the races for the first time, the John Price trained daughter of Good Journey jumped away well to sit outside leader Enood, and at the top of the straight she looked like she may cause an upset as she took it up to her. Those two were swamped late by the fast finishing Godlophin runner Lyre, who along with Enood showed the benefit of race experience.
Trying all the way to the post, Trip finished 1.5 lengths from the winner to earn third place with over 3 lengths to the fourth horse and the former $18,000 yearling certainly looks to have a bright future if her debut effort is anything to go by. Race experience will be of huge benefit for Trip, who was a little green throughout, whenever she steps out next.
