Tavisocks Goes Back To Back With Another Classy Win
Jan 16, 2019
Tavisocks has continued the hot streak for Grand Syndicates with another win on Wednesday.
The mare was coming off an impressive last start win less than two weeks ago, and despite stepping up a grade, showed her class to record a stylish win at Kyneton.
Jumping well from an inside gate, jockey Daniel Stackhouse allowed her to find her feet as they ran out of the straight the first time. She settled well and at the 700m mark, she was given a little squeeze by Stackhouse to allow her to get into the race. At the 250m mark the gap she was about to run into closed and she was forced to come out around heels to make her run. Despite her small frame, she shouldered one of the bigger horses in the race out of her way and kept up her momentum to attack the line and score what was a rather soft victory in the end, winning by 3/4 of a length.
It was the third victory for the former NZ$27,500 purchase and continued a nice run of winners for trainer Luke Oliver. The stable has had 7 winners from their last 27 runners and Tavisocks was the second leg of a winning double on the day for them.
