Gee Whizzer Notches Up Sixth Career Win
Jan 09, 2019
Consistent Grand Syndicates sprinter Gee Whizzer continued the hot run of winners for the syndicator on Wednesday with a deserved victory at Stony Creek. It is the 19th winner for Grand Syndicates this season and the sixth in the past 20 days.
Trained by John Price, who saddled up a double for Grand Syndicates late last month with Royal Volley and Second Marriage at Yarra Valley, Gee Whizzer sat back towards the rear of the field after jumping well. With a decent pace on up front, he still had only two runners behind him as the field approached the 400m mark. Easing out wide, he still had four lengths to make up at the 200m but he really knuckled down in the last 100m and under a great ride by jockey Jason Maskiell, who lifted the horse over the line just at the right time, put his nose down to score over Sir Mask.
In scoring his 6th win, the former $8000 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase lifted his prizemoney to over $135,000 in his career that has also yielded 18 placings.
