Tavisocks Gets The Nod In Gutsy Win
Jan 06, 2019
Grand Syndicates mare Tavisocks scored a gutsy win at Wangaratta on Saturday, with the judge calling for the print and declaring her the winner by the barest of margins.
Under jockey Daniel Stackhouse, the Luke Oliver trained mare settled in the back half of the field as they ran along up front at a quick tempo. Ridden along before the turn, she still had plenty of work to do as the field entered the straight however she never shirked her task and at the line had her nose in front to land some nice bets, starting at $3.30 after as much as $6 was offered.
The daughter of Tavistock was purchased at the NZB Select Yearling Sale for $27,500 from the draft of the legendary Cambridge Stud and has banked $32,000 for her connections.
