Gem Dealer Makes It Three Wins In Two Days For Grand Syndicates
Dec 23, 2018
The winning run continued for Grand Syndicates on Saturday at Newcastle. After two winners on Friday at Yarra Valley, Gem Dealer made it 3 in two days with a nice win in the final event of the day.
At just her second start, the 3 year old filly broke her maiden in the 1200 metre race with a tough win that landed some nice bets for her followers. As much as $31 was bet early on before she jumped at $11, no doubt taking a bit from the bookie's bags.
Scone trainer Brett Cavanough has done a great job with the daughter of Dundeel, who hasn't proved the easiest filly to train. He no doubt took great delight in the win, beating home runners from Sydney's most powerful stables.
Winning jockey Grant Buckley was impressed with Gem Dealer's effort and reported that she will improve even more as she learns to settle a little better.
She was a $30,000 purchase from the Arrowfield Stud draft at the Inglis Classic Sale and has banked $23,250 in just two starts.
