Could Golden Eagle Be On Behemoth's Menu?

Dec 08, 2018

Behemoth, the latest star for syndicator Grand Syndicates, could be aimed at the inaugural running of the newly announced $7.5m The Golden Eagle. The race, which will be Australia's second richest, will be the first feature race held exclusively for four-year-olds and will be run over 1500m at Rosehill Gardens on November 2.

The long term plan with the bargain $6000 purchase will be to take on the very best of his age next Spring, after he competes in the Adelaide and Brisbane carnivals later this season.

With an impressive record of two wins from just four starts, including a last start demolition of a handy field at Moonee Valley, it appears the sky could be the limit for the son of All Too Hard. He has been the subject of plenty of interest from potential buyers both here and overseas, but his owners have firmly put up the not for sale sign and will be keen to test him against the best company in the future.

Currently enjoying a spell, his return to trainer David Jolly's stables in South Australia will be keenly anticipated after he enjoys a well deserved break.
