Behemoth Scores Big Win
Nov 06, 2018
Talented Grand Syndicates' owned gelding Behemoth scored an emphatic win at Morphettville on Melbourne Cup Day for trainer David Jolly and his big team of happy owners.
Jumping from barrier 1, jockey Dom Tourneur settled the big son of All Too Hard back on the fence behind the leaders in the run. As they approached the turn, Tourneur never panicked and kept hugging the rails and then presented Behemoth at the 300m to make his sprint. Despite being as green as the Morphettville grass, ducking out a few times up the straight, he had almost three lengths to spare at the finish.
After having two runs as a 2yo where he placed at his second start, Behemoth was first up today and the former $6,500 Magic Millions Gold Coast National Sale purchase has now recorded 1 win and a third for prize money of $21,800 in just his three career starts.
He continues the excellent record of David Jolly for Grand Syndicates, with the Goolwa based trainer now having recorded wins with Behemoth, Bajan, Eureka Sky and Toffiato in his short association with the black and gold of Team Grand.
