Second Marriage sizzles at Pakenham
Mar 23, 2018
Exciting filly Second Marriage continued an outstanding week for stablemates Grand Syndicates and Belhus Racing with her 4-3/4 length demolition job in the Ranges Alarms Maiden (Race 3-1200m) at Pakenham yesterday.
Team Grand started the ball rolling with emerging filly High Sierra saluting in style under lights at Moonee Valley last Friday night, before talented Belhus four-year-old Prize Catch descended late to score at Ascot last Saturday.
The John Price-prepared Second Marriage, who made national headlines when running into all sorts of strife and being lucky to stay upright first up at Pakenham on March 8, however, she was afforded the opportunity to showcase her true abilities yesterday and she obliged by bolting in.
Ridden positively by Michael Dee, the three-year-old daughter of Reset enjoyed a nice run in transit and quickly reeled in the tearaway leader shortly after straightening, drawing clear to win in a canter.
The future is bright for this former $18,000 yearling and she takes her solid record to a win and three placings, from only six starts, already banking over $34,000, including $12,000 in VOBIS payments.
