For Those Who Want A Little More- Introducing GRAND PLATINUM!

Mar 05, 2018

In just a few short months through the early part of 2018, we've seen the price of thoroughbred yearlings skyrocket. Fuelled mainly by a combination of record overseas investment, together with the booming popularity of racehorse syndication, we’ve seen the median prices at the four major auction sales conducted so far this year climb to all new levels.

The median price of a yearling at the Magic Millions sale in January went up from 2017 figures by 16% ($120,000 to $140,000), the increase over the same short period at Karaka in NZ was 50% ($50,000 to $75,000), the increase at the Inglis Classic sale in Sydney was 36% ($55,000 to $75,000), and the increase at the Magic Millions Perth sale was 40% ($25,000 to $35,000).

The reason for that is that Australia is seen by almost everyone in the industry as the best country in the World to race horses on a costs to prizemoney basis, and New Zealand is a good source of horses for Aussies, hence the increased price for thoroughbred yearlings in both countries.

In short, it means that for us, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to purchase suitable yearlings that we can sell as our standard ‘grand a share’ offerings and so from now on, the majority of our syndicates will be our ‘Double Grand’ horses which we offer at $2,200/share. We’ll still find those less expensive horses of course, and in fact our first syndicate offered in 2018, the Bullet Train filly in QLD is a grand a share (plus GST of course).

But, ‘Double Grand’ from now on will be the norm. HOWEVER….

Introducing Grand Platinum!

To cater for those who want to spend more on their syndicate shares, and to allow us to compete at a higher level, we’re very excited to introduce our next level of business - Grand Platinum!

Grand Platinum shares will be basically anything above our ‘grand a share’ and ‘double grand’ offerings.

A good example of that is our purchase at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in February of the filly (pictured) by the Cox Plate winner Shamus Award from It’s You, which we bought for $65,000.

She’s a classic type of filly, one that we’ll look to aim for the better quality mile plus races as a three year old and older horse, in particular races such as the AJC Oaks etc. Shares in her are $5,150, (5% share) a price that includes insurance, breaking in, agistment and all other costs right up to June 30th, in addition to inclusion in the $8,000,000 Inglis race series and the ever popular BOBS bonus race series too-both of which means more potential prizemoney for YOU!.

Grand Platinum will allow those who wish to invest with us at a slightly higher level to do so. I hope you can join us...
