Busy weekend ahead for Team Grand

Oct 06, 2017

Spring is here and the Grand Syndicates' squad is starting to hit their straps with six runners across three states this Saturday and Sunday.

The hectic weekend gets under way with NSW-based Belle Voleur racing first up from a spell in Race 8 at Newcastle on Saturday. The Grant Allard-trained five-year-old has competed well in two lead-up barrier trials and looks set for solid campaign.

Bruce Hill's Gold Coast stable will be stepping out three runners with the in-form Media Maid lining up in Race 10 at Gold Coast tomorrow, before promising three-year-old Gun Bolt and smart customer Liberty Island compete at Sunday's Sunshine Coast meeting in Race 4 and Race 8 respectively.

The John Price-prepared duo Toffiato and Gee Whizzer (pictured) will be flying the Team Grand flag in Victoria when they head to Seymour on Sunday. Toffiato has been knocking on the door in recent times and should appreciate stepping up to 1200 metres in Race 4, while Gee Whizzer should be ready to find some of his best form third up from a break in Race 9.
